Wii Classic Controller
Nintendo has already presented their newest developed game console”the Wii. On their press conference last 2005 they have demonstrated the features of the Wii and its unique game controller that looks like a remote control called Wii Remote. Nintendo defined the Wii as a revolution in the game console because of its motion-sensing ability that is surely going to be a new experience for the gamers.
Since the presentation made by Nintendo for the Wii console, game developers had planned on designing games that would match its unique feature and focus on the use of the Wii Remote. Even though new games for the next-generation consoles were being made, gamers can still play their favorite classic games on Wii with one problem that some games do not work pretty well with the Wii Remote.
Aside from the Wii Remote, Nintendo also released their Wii Classic Controller. The Wii Classic Controller is the Wiis version of a traditional gamepad. It was believed that it combined the elements of the SNES and GameCube controllers.
Like the Wii Remote, The Wii Classic Controller is white in color. It has an oval shape with a curve, buttons like the old game pad such as X, Y, A and B, the directional buttons, and four shoulder buttons (L and R and ZL and ZR) at the top. It also contains the “, +, and home buttons and two analogs. The Classic Controller was also made lightweight for comfort reasons.
Nintendo designed the Wii Classic Controller for all the virtual console games from Nintendo Entertainment System, Super NES, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis and NEC Turbografix 16 except the games from GameCube. Players must use the GameCube controller in playing the GameCube games.
The Wii Classic Controller does not have its own power supply. So, to make it work the controller should be plug in in the Wii Remote thus taking advantage to its wireless feature at the same time. The controller can also be use by players that are not yet familiar in using the Wii remote while playing.
