Who is your favorite blues singer?
Led*Zep*Babe asked:
I have many, but at the moment I’m really into Muddy Waters. He was such a great influence with blues music as well as rock n’ roll. He had great skill with an electric guitar, powerful vocals, and was a compelling songwriter. I haven’t heard a song of his yet that I didn’t like.
So, who is one of your favorite blues artists?

I agree that there are many MANY great blues artist over the years.
My personal favorite though is Stevie Ray Vaughn.
I got to see him open for BB King a couple of years before he died.
Both were amazing.
Billie Holiday, Etta James, Janis Joplin…
Janis Joplin
does Diana Krall count?
Bessie Smith-wrote and performed The Key To The Highway
Elmore James-wrote and performed The Sky Is Crying.
Sorry,couldn’t give you just one.
The great BB King ! Just look at my picture, I’m standing on Bourbon Street… so I guess I should know the greatest Blues master !
John Lee Hooker
Bobby Dylan if that counts.
