Welcome To Mad World

PlatinumGames Shigenori Nishikawa and Atsushi Inaba developed a game called MadWorld exclusively for the Wii game console. The game was dedicated for the hard gamers but to also build up the features of the Wii consoles platform. The game was said to be controversial and was published by Sega.

Upon the take over of The Organizers a terrorist group that made the whole city of Virrigan to be a game show known Death Watch the game starts. Citizens were trapped and were forced to join the game show. They have no choice but to fight for their survival against unknown enemies and win a one hundred dollars cash prize.

Players take control of the games main character named Jack. Like the other citizens, jack has been a contestant of the game. Jack fights unknown enemies by using different tactics and outrages weapons around his environment such as chainsaw, street signs, bats, rose thorns, and daggers. The more skillful and violent way of killing that Jack has done, the more the chance of Jacks getting into survival.

Since the game feature a very violent presentation, the designer Shigenori Nishikawa hoped that it will be seen as a comical execution of a dark tone game. The graphics of the game was in a limited color palette of highly contrast black and white with red as for the color of the blood as inspired by the graphic of the novel Sin City.

The game received mixed reactions from the gaming world. Controversies had been coming even before the game was release. Because of the games violent game play, the release of MadWorld in United Kingdom was being opposed. Due to controversies, the target places where the game would be release are very much thought about.

Even if controversies were lining up before MadWorlds release, decision to launch the game early this year was still made. It will be release in North America and Australia but still undecided for Japan. Nintendo also showed their support for the game.
