The Ultimate Protection

Nintendo Wii has been the newest popular game console these days. With its motion-sensing developed game controller known as Wii Remote, players were able to play tennis, bowling and baseball just inside their homes.

In spite from this, damages caused by the use of Wii Remote were reported. Players shared some stories of remotes slipping out of their hands causing it to fly out and broke their windows, or crashed down the floor, hit things on their home and worse, some of them were also hit.

To solve these problems, Nintendo immediately brought a solution. A report from the Japanese newspaper Asahi told that Nintendo will ship out Wii Remote Jackets. These are silicon sleeves to protect the Wii remote and also lessen the damages. In a Japanese news paper Asahi, Nintendo made an answer for these problems. Nintendo told that Wii Remote Jackets or Sleeves will be given out to all Wii consumers. The jackets or sleeves were made out of silicon which Nintendo believed will result in lesser damages and will protect the Wii Remote at the same time.

Aside from the Wii Remote Jackets, Nintendo also included strengthened wrist straps for the remote. To get these protective stuffs, current Wii owners have been notified by Nintendo using the online messaging feature of the system and advised to go on their website and fill out the request form or they can call a hotline number to request. All will be shipped for free.

It was believed that around two billion yen or nearly 18 million dollars has been out from the companys pocket for the supply of Wii Remote Jackets and wrist straps shipped for free world wide. Nintendo expects that it would not make an impact on the condition of the companys financial matters.

Since the event, Nintendo then released consoles Wii remote with the Wii remote jacket. And because of the safety issues several third parties also sell out their own version of Wii remote jacket. But the free jackets from Nintendo is much padded and made to be easy to remove.
