State Your Case With A Vintage Rock T-Shirt
The music business cycles thus allowing what was once considered old to be valued as new and exciting again. There are a number of things that can trigger a resurgence of particular kinds of music. The fans of the reemerging music are sure to take advantage of the chance to show their pride in their favorite music. They will certainly bring out their old t-shirts featuring their favorite bands.
It used to seem like hip hop would be the favorite music of kids for generations to come. But the reality is that under all of the rhyming and rhythms, the music of vintage bands was lurking. That was where hip hop artists got their inspiration. Young people that had been listening to hip hop for years had no idea they were really listening to the repeated chords by Aerosmith or something first done by Journey. That was before the emergence of video games such as Guitar Hero.
Games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band depended on vintage classic rock as their background music; all at once young people could identify the makers of this sound, introducing them to a new music genre termed “classic” rock, which they fell for right off the bat.
It didn’t take too long for video game makers to begin providing additional music for kids to purchase for their Guitar Hero catalog, primarily classic rock tunes. Seeing this, parents dug out their vintage rock t-shirts to wear again since their own kids were getting into classic rock the same way they did years back. Young people saw their parents sporting vintage rock t-shirts, as well as those depicted in Guitar Hero games, and they wanted them also.
It usually happens that when a band releases a new record their t-shirts start selling and their back catalog of music starts selling again as well. Imagine taking that concept and multiplying by the number of classic rock bands available and you suddenly have a resurgence in the sale of vintage rock t-shirts. These video games were like the re-issue of all of that guitar based classic rock and suddenly t-shirts and CDs started selling again like crazy.
The younger generation brings back those things that their parents held dear when they were younger. Bands from 20 or 30 years ago have become favorites again, of even the younger generation, due to the popularity of the game Guitar Hero. Youths are purchasing music but also are getting back into vinyl so records are making a resurgence too.
It would have been hard to predict that the very thing parents have been complaining about for years could be the very vehicle for bringing parts of their childhoods to their kids. Parents have been convinced for years that video games are bringing down their children’s generation and now that video games have brought back classic rock and vintage rock t-shirts many parents are starting to rethink their views on video games.
There is probably very little chance that hip hop may disappear from the music industry all together but it is interesting to see the same kids that used to wear DMX t-shirts now wearing vintage rock t-shirts and listening to classic rock. Guitar Hero and games like it are perfect examples of how the icons of previous generations can become reborn using the trendy vehicles of current generations. It is hard to say how classic rock will be introduced to future generations but it can be assumed that someone will find a way to make sure that vintage rock t-shirts find their way onto the youth of the world one more time.
