Some Practical Uses for a Large Plastic Easter Egg

Your large plastic Easter egg shouldn’t fall by the wayside once the Easter celebrations are over – far from it. There are many many different uses you can find around the home for these very handy containers.

Household Uses

A large plastic Easter egg makes a good household container. Here’s some uses to think about. If the egg does not have holes in it, use it to hold smaller amounts of paint or finishes.

Don’t forget about some home office stuff that you can store in your plastic easter eggs like thumb tacks or staples. Ever lost a screw when building some flat-pack furniture? How annoying is that! Well know you can store all the nuts and bolts you need for a job inside a large plastic easter egg and store it in your pocket. Storing paper clips, pins, and clips that always seem to get lost in the junk drawer is a great tip to get that home office looking organized. This way you will know exactly where all your stationary is as you can label them also.

Batteries also work well with large plastic Easter eggs since they also tend to get lost when needed. If you poke a few holes in one, it can be filled with potpourri to use as an air freshener.

Personal Uses

Back in the day, stores used to use containers shaped just like your large plastic easter eggs to sell pantyhose. You can adopt this same idea for your bedroom by keeping your pantyhose in your plastic easter eggs to prevent them from laddering whilst they are in storage. Plus put your loose jewellery in them whilst travelling to avoid scuff marks on precious items.

The eggs are also good for keeping cash or lose coins in. For women, eyeliner brushes can easily fit into one of these eggs.

Random Uses for those Plastic Easter Eggs

You can make almost limitless games for your children with some colourful disused large plastic easter eggs that you may not have thought of before. For the younger ones, you can put a little treat in a green plastic easter egg and ask them to point out the green one. When they do they get a bit of candy. Great for memory, and great for colour recognition.

I love playing with large plastic easter eggs on the beach with my kids. You can use them as moulds for the sand to make some great looking sandcastles.

For Christmas or birthdays wrap the egg up in ribbons or other decorations and fill it with a small gift. Poke two holes in opposite sides, run a string of lights through the eggs and seal the eggs. This works as a handmade patio light set or party light set.

We have looked at countless different ways to reuse your large plastic easter eggs for various different handy solutions. But as you can tell, you are only limited by your imagination.
