Satellite Hidef Television Companies
As you are researching the pros and cons about satellite TV, you should know that you need the proper equipment. No matter if you switch from another TV satellite service, you need their dish since it is programmed to receive and recognize that particular signal.
Satellite TV uses a small dish that can be installed on a roof of a house or anywhere that has a clear view of the southern sky without much fuss. Once the dish is installed you have to coaxial wire the receiver to the television. The receiver than transmits the signal it gets from the satellite thru coaxial wire to the television.
Video from a broadcast center is encoded before it is digitally streamed to an orbiting satellite. This MPEG-4 video then converts to the receiver in your home. The encoded video is then unencrypted using a correct decryption algorithm for the programs signed for. That way no one accesses it for free.
There are various types of orbits for satellites but the seemingly stationary orbit is known as the geostationary orbit. This orbit is a balance of velocity and gravitational force so it maintains its stationary orbit.
Then there is the SuperDish. A SuperDISH is slightly larger than the small satellite dish and is oval shaped. It is able to receive a signal from three satellite locations. The SuperDISH satellite antenna dish gives you the advantage of receiving even more programming (such as HD, locals or international) using a single dish solution.
High definition gives a clear and more lifelike picture since it has about twice the number of pixels as the old analog picture transmission. It usually comes in 2 formats: 720p – 1280×720 pixels progressive, 1080i – 1920×1080 pixels interlaced. The 1080i gives a sharper image for slow moving action and the 720p allows for a clearer picture when action is fast such as a horserace or basketball game.
Very often people get frustrated by cable companies continually raising their rates and they begin to look elsewhere. Satellite TV offers more programming for less costs and the reception equipment is generally free.
There may be a few competing cable companies in your area. For satellite deals, however, you will have only two choices.
