A few days later, Ronald DeFeo confesses to killing his parents, and brothers, and sisters. He claimed voices in the house drove him to do it. When a new family moves into the house a year later, their dream home becomes their worst nightmare.
Mr. Peabody and The Mermaid: Gentle comedy-fantasy by Nunnally Johnson has its minutes, with unsuspecting Powell finding a pleasant mermaid when fishing. Powell makes anything look excellent. Cast includes William Powell, Ann Blyth, Irene Hervey, Andrea Emperor, and Clinton Sundberg. (89 minutes, 1948)
Underworld: The Vampires and the Werewolves have lived for centuries now within the human world. Although humans don’t even think either group even exists, to each other they are mortal enemies. The werewolves are trying to develop an new breed, combining the strengths of both races. If they succeed it will drastically shift the balance of power to the werewolves.
The Great Profile: Barrymore on downslide grants some snickers in self-mimicking story of aging, arrogant performer. Cast includes John Barrymore, Mary Beth Hughes, Gregory Ratoff, John Payne, Anne Baxter, Lionel Atwill, and Edward Brophy. (82 minutes, 1940)
