Major League II: After a miraculous comeback season that landed them in the ALCS last year, the Cleveland Indians have set their sites on the World Series. The off-season has seen many of the teams best players go through changes. After a slow start can these guys get back to their old ways and start winning like they did last year?

Panic Room: A divorced woman and her daughter have just moved into their new home in New York. The house has been built with a panic room. When burglars enter the house one night, the two take refuge in the panic room to survive the attack. The problem is that what the burglars are after is the in the panic room.

So Close: Two siblings, ostensibly ultra-tech pc surveillance operators, are secretly assassins decimating a murderously corrupt business outfit by outfit. Quarreling tooth and nail with gun and sword, they’re countered by a shrewd policewoman equally skilled in martial crafts. Wonderful-gaudy action set pieces far outplay the inter personals in this hack Charlie’s Life savers wannabe. Cast includes Zhao Wei, Karen Mok, Melody Seung Hun, Michael Wai, Yasuaki Kurata, and Derek Wan. (111 minutes, 2002)

Alien Thunder: Mountie Sutherland pursues an Indian implicated of a sergeant’s kill in this handsome although monotonous action flick. Cast includes Donald Sutherland, Kevin McCarthy, Chief Dan George, Jean Duceppe, Jack Creely, and Francine Racette. (90 minutes, 1973)

Dracula Dead and Loving It: Dracula gets the Mel Brooks treatment in this burlesque flick which invests so much time retelling the recognizable Transylvanian’s tale it forgets to be ludicrous. There are some good minutes for Brooks’ fans, but just not enough. Cast includes Leslie Nielsen, Peter MacNicol, Steven Weber, Amy Beck, Charlie Callas, and Anne Bancroft. (90 minutes, 1995)

Prime Cut: Here is a fast moving tongue-in-cheek waste that fans of sleazy offense melodramas should love. This is Spacek’s first film. Cast includes Cast includes Lee Marvin, Gene Hackman, Life saver Tompkins, Gregory Walcott, Sissy Spacek, and Janit Baldwin. (86 minutes, 1972)
