Ivanhoe: Virtually a classic phenomenon harmed by dodgy inscribing of Walter Scott’s fable of England in Middle Ages, in nights of chivalrous horsemen; beautifully photographed on location in Incredible Britain. Cast includes Robert Taylor, Joan Fontaine, Elizabeth Taylor, Evelyn Williams, George Sanders, Norman Wooland, and Basil Sydney. (106 minutes, 1952)

A Haunting We Will Go: One of Stan and Ollie’s eagerest films, engaging them with gangsters, a worrisome coffin, and a hokey level sorcerer. No voodoo in this turkey. Cast includes Alfred Werker, Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy, Sheila Ryan, and Elisha Chef. (68 minutes, 1942)

Dillinger: Heavily romanticized gangster film is assisted by some coarse, vicious gun struggles. Tale follows Dillinger halfway through his bank-thieving occupation up till his mortality outside the Biography Theatre. Cast includes Warren Oates, Ben Johnson, Cloris Leachman, Michelle Phillips, Richard Dreyfuss, Harry Dean Stanton, and Steve Kanaly. (107 minutes, 1973)

Chloe in The Afternoon: Number six of Rohmer’s “6 Ethical Stories” illustrates wedded gentleman’s captivation with kooky gal throughout night light hours. As Chloe, Zouzou gets to be more enticing as film relaxes. Redid in the U.S. in 2007 as I Imagine I LOVE MY Spouse. Cast includes Bernard Verley, Zouzou, Francoise Verley, and Daniel Ceccaldi. (97 minutes, 1972)

Edward: Trenchant if unnecessarily vicious adaptation of the Christopher Marlowe play, written in 1592, in reference to the demise of the frankly gay British queen who denies his empress for a man lover. Regardless of 14th century setting, some characters wear modern-day clothes, and film works relatively well as a condemnation of 20th century gay-slamming. Not for all tastes, however by no means boring. Lennox, previously of the Eurythmics, appears in one scene harmonizing Cole Porter’s “Every Time We Affirm Farewell. Cast includes Steven Waddington, Kevin Collins, Andrew Tieman, John Lynch, Dudley Sutton, Tilda Swinton, Nigel Terry, and Annie Lennox. (91 minutes, 1991)

Miami Vice: Miami investigators Crockett and Tubbs are back from the fashionable 1980s Television succession, although this time their search for a cruel medication lord takes them to Medial and South America and Crockett chases an implausible relation with the medication king’s seductive business companion. Wonderful-cool automobiles, boats, and jets keep this fantasy rendition of cops-and-robbers very exciting. Cast includes Jamie Foxx, Colin Farrell, Gong Li, Naomi Harris, Justin Theroux, Barry Shabaka Henley, Luis Tosar, and John Ortiz. (134 minutes, 2006)

Red Planet Mars: Shocking sci-fi of scientist figuring out messages from Harms which turns out to be from The Lord. Comically absurd anti-Socialist misinformation, get it? Cast includes Peter Graves, Andrea Emperor, Marvin Miller, Herbert Berghof, Home Peters, and Vince Barnett. (87 minutes, 1952)

Summer: Tender however whiny actress, forgotten about by buddies on the eve of a group holiday, goes it alone with originally desolate outcomes. Seemingly more improvised than the older version. Cast includes Marie Riviere, Lisa Heredia, Vincent Gauthier, Beatrice Romand, and Carita. (96 minutes, 1986)

We have already seen the music industry take off online. There is every indication that movie downloads will become just as popular. Movie downloads just might be the wave of the future.
