Learn To Play The Piano
If you want to know how to play the piano you will need someone to teach you. It is not impossible to learn on your own but it requires a lot of ambition and determination. If you are really serious about playing this instrument then I suggest you find a piano teacher. They have the necessary experience to make the lessons seem easier and that will help especially at the beginning when everything is new.
Any piano player will tell you that you need to know music theory in order to advance. You do not need to master it but there are a few elements you have to know. You will learn that music is written in standard notation which means that music notes are placed on a 5 lines staff. It is important that you recognize those notes and that you can find them on the piano keyboard. Until you get familiar with the piano keyboard and the representation of notes you will not be able to go any further. As time goes by you will comprehend the distinction between the 2 most used clefs: the treble clef and the bass clef. You will learn what whole, half, quarter and eighth notes are and what a dotted note stands for. Pause duration is another element you will pick up. A very important aspect of any song is the time measure. All these details have to be clearly understood by any instrument player.
It is never easy to learn something new and the piano is no exception especially if it is your first musical instrument. At times, it can get frustrating to coordinate your fingers. Make sure you spend at least 30 minutes a day practicing and before you know it you will not even think about your fingers.
The first song you learn should be one that you like. You might as well have some fun. Start playing with your right hand first. Do not rush and repeat until you get the notes correctly. Then move to the left hand. When you think you master both hands you can start playing the melody with both hands. It is a certitude that you will not get it right the first time but the important thing is to keep going. Do not stop until you succeed.
It is good to look forward to learning how to play an instrument but you have to be realistic about how much you will learn in a few weeks. It takes a lot of practice to get to a higher level where you can play the piano by ear and even compose songs of your own. But once you get there you will realize there is no feeling like it.
It is easy now to learn to play piano thanks to DecPlay method.
