How to join a California Craft Fair
Creating a business out of something we love to do will surely be a successful business. We believe that our hobbies can profit for us and anything that is made out of love will be beautiful for our customers. The next step is to find out how to apply for a California Craft Show.
Before applying for a craft show we will need to know the schedule on where the craft shows will be held. You can find this information online, there are site where you can see the schedule of California Craft Show. But for beginners it is best to pick a craft show near you. Having a craft show near you will have lower investments and having a lower investment makes it easier to break even and not get too disappointed.
When you have chosen the area or craft show that you want to enter, and then check on the fee to apply, how and when to apply and what is included in the application fee. You will also need to ask if the craft show has juries or not because there are different ways of applying to one.
If the craft show is a non-juried type then there will be less things to prepare for you to apply. While for a juried craft show you will need to present a resume, pictures of your craft or your other shows, list of craft shows you have attended and a sample of you products. Or there might be other requirements that your event organizers will require before they give you an application kit.
Not only is there a space fee difference between a non-juried and juried craft show, but the amount of people attending the show will have its difference. With a juried craft show they make sure that there are more vendors applying then the space available and that the product will have a lot of variations for the customers. While with the non-juried craft show it is for a small community like a bazaar done for a church or a school.
Non-juried craft shows are usually good for beginners because you can gather more experience with lesser investments. Once you have more experience you will know what your customers are looking for and how to compete with other vendors that you can now join the big league. But keep in mind any craft show is a learning experience for any craft makers.
