How Freeing Your Mind Can Lead To A More Fulfilling Life
Most people want nothing more than to lead calm, relaxing, stress-free lives. For some, achieving inner peace is something that can only come from living life on the edge. Whether you’re high on life or you get some extra help from prescription medications or other drugs, the fact remains that the world today may seem like it’s spinning faster than it ever has before and you want nothing more than to just make it stop. When it comes to freeing your mind, one of the first things you might want to think about doing is accepting that you are just one of many.
Your world may thrive on taking care of other people. But no matter how much time you spend making sure the worlds of others are kept spinning, you are still alone within your own world. Some people get so caught up in this that there’s nothing that will ever leave them feeling content.
When children start changing into adults, it seems inevitable that at least a few chains will begin to form in their minds. When you were a child, when you were told you had to wait for an hour, those sixty minutes probably seemed like an eternity. Perhaps this is because a child really has no concept of time. There are no deadlines to meet, no real responsibilities.
One of the reasons time may seem to be flying by is because you’re now so very aware of it. You know what the rest of the world expects from you and it can weigh very heavily on not only your mind, but also your soul. Trying to live up to what everyone expects from you, stressing yourself out over getting this or that done, or trying to convince others of how right you are, can make you feel like you’re living in a dark and very lonely box.
Most people love to believe that they are thinking for themselves, when in reality this is not the case. Only when you can step into another person’s little world (as different as it may be from yours) and do so without any plans of doing any reconstruction there, will you be on the way to changing/adding to the one you live in.
Just about every person who lives on this earth is aware of the guidelines that are in place to help everyone live alongside each other. It doesn’t matter what religion you are or where you stand politically, some rules simply need to followed. However, this does not mean you can’t or shouldn’t question them. The more you question everything, the more you will begin to understand. The more you’re able to understand and feel, the freer your mind will become.
When you feel one restraint snap, it can start a chain reaction. There are things you must do in order to survive. There are certain rules that must be obeyed. Working on freeing your mind of many (if not all) of the restrictions that have been placed on it, means following the laws of humankind while still being able to think for yourself. When you can accept or at least tolerate other views, beliefs and people, you will be on your way to freedom.
