A guitar is not something less than a splendid piece of art for those who are its true lovers. People are playing guitar from many centuries. Kurt Cobain, who is also famous because of his controversial death, is also remembered as one of the very few legendary guitarists, who rocked the world. The guitarist and lead singer of the band, called Nirvana, has been the sole and primary reason for the incredible success and cult status of the band. His tracks like “Smells like Teen Spirit” and “Come as You Are” are still heard by millions around the world and are considered as rock anthems.
Referring to hard rock bands that have revolutionized the heavy metal scene, through the unusual talents of their guitarists, Metallica, without any shadow of doubt, comes out on the top. Kirk Hammett, the lead guitarist and songwriter for Metallica, is listed as the 11th best guitar player in the 100 greatest guitarists of the all-time list of Rolling Stone. Hammett played with a band called Exodus before joining Metallica. Whilst with Metallica, he polished his guitar playing skills to an incredibly elevated plane. The often referred to as crazy, but amazing sounding strums of Kirk, inspired millions around the world to play like him.
Jimmy Patrick Page, the guitar player of Led Zeppelin, is one more famous name in the list of the legendary guitar players of the history. Owing to his guitar wonders, Led Zeppelin was the most victorious band of the 70s. Positioned at number 9 in the list of Rolling Stone, he was regarded as one of the most influential and wonderful guitar players of all times.
When talking about new age rock idols, Tom Morello is one name worth mentioning. Tom is the guitarist of the famous band, Audioslave, who have enjoyed a huge amount of success in the recent years.
