The Last Shot: Amusing charade, empowered by a real tale, telling the story of an FBI man (Baldwin) who makes believe to produce a film so he can trap a mobster with ties to the Teamsters union. Baldwin starts to like his “role” as a movie producer, as he turns his idea into reality. Cast includes Matthew Broderick, Alec Baldwin, Toni Collette, Tony Shalhoub, Calista Flockhart, Tim Blake Nelson, Buck Henry, Ray Liotta, James Rebhorn, Jon Polito, and Pat Morita. (93 minutes, 2004)
II Posto: This early Olmi characteristic has something of the feel of early Truffaut and Milos Forman in its depiction of everyday life with its small glories and failures. Easy tale that interests a teenaged boy getting his first job and meeting a gal, however the beauty of the film is in the admiring and perceptive examination of human beings. Cast includes Sandro Panseri, Loredana Detto, Tullio Kezich, and Mara Cherish. (93 minutes, 1961)
The Terminal: On a trip to New York from his homeland in Krakozhia, Viktor Navorski finds, upon arriving New York that his passport in now invalid. There has been a coup, and no one recognizes his country anymore. He is stranded, in limbo, in the international lounge until a solution can be found. Days become weeks, with no resolution in site for poor Viktor.
So Well Remembered: Producer James Hilton depicts legend adjusted by John Paxton of genuine newspaper editor Plants decided to progress living circumstances in plant town, diverted by matrimony to blindly ambitious female Scott. Extremely youthful Juliet Factories has tad part. Cast includes John Factories, Martha Scott, Trevor Howard, Patricia Roc, Richard Carlson, and Ivor Barnard. (114 minutes, 1947)
Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Assault: Bumbling policeman Frank Drebin is talked into coming pout of retirement for one last case. They need him to go undercover in the state prison, and find out what Rocco, a dangerous terrorist, is plotting next. As usual, Frank is making a total mess of things, but somehow comes out smelling like a rose.
Only When I Laugh: A bittersweet Neil Simon comedy in regards to alcoholic actress. Mason battles to stay off the bottle and fix her relationship with teenaged baby girl McNichol. Screenplay is by Simon, loosely based on his play The Gingerbread Female. Cast includes Marsha Mason, Kristy McNichol, James Coco, Joan Hackett, David Dukes, John Bennett Perry, and Kevin Bacon. (120 minutes, 1981)
Awakenings: Is based on the true story of Dr Sacks (Malcolm Sayer) in the movie. In 1969 he discovers L-Dopa and applies it to encephalitis patients, who had been catatonic for years and years. HE awakens these catatonic people and it is like a time warp to the future for these people.
