Earth Day 2009 Overview

Taking care of our own planet is a task left only to us as her steward. We should all be able to learn how to care and nurture this place were living in, in any way possible. Earth Day 2009 is founded by an organization which focuses on public awareness of global warming ad its effects to our planet and our bodies. The organization has several programs which promotes awareness and actions from other people. Earth Day is a chance that makes people builds their efforts in other to save our world.

Earth Hour is a program of Earth Day that aims to lessen and save the worlds energy and electricity reserves. Earth Hour asks us to shut down our electricity for one whole minute. All the countries around the world are expected to participate in this campaign. Of course, each country has its own time slot in participating in earth hour.

Another solution to issues concerning the worlds economic crisis and environmental issues as well is the creation of green-collared jobs. What are green collar jobs? Green collar jobs are jobs that provide decent income or salary to employees and at the same time contributing to a cleaner and safer environment. Jobs in solar power plants are examples of green collared jobs. It is heartwarming to know that the two most pressing issues of our time, which is unemployment and global warming is addressed in this one solution.
