Different Uses For A Large Plastic Easter Egg

While everyone associates plastic eggs with Easter, large eggs can be used for a variety of other things besides filling with candy. Other than finding a large plastic Easter egg in the Easter basket, here are some other uses which work quite well.

Household Uses

A large plastic Easter egg makes a good household container. Here’s some uses to think about. If the egg does not have holes in it, use it to hold smaller amounts of paint or finishes.

You can store push-pins and thumbtacks in these eggs so they don’t get lost or mixed in with other items. The eggs are good for storing screws when you are working on a project such as the computer or a piece of furniture. Paper clips, pins, and clips always seem to get lost in the junk drawer. This would work to keep them at least in one place.

Batteries also work well with large plastic Easter eggs since they also tend to get lost when needed. If you poke a few holes in one, it can be filled with potpourri to use as an air freshener.

More Personal Solutions

While thinking of uses for the large plastic Easter eggs, try some of the following for storage of personal items. You can store pantyhose in them. This used to be a common way to sell pantyhose. These are useful for keeping jewellery in while travelling.

Your large plastic easter eggs are also good to keep loose change in and eye liner brushes / mascara brushes rather than having them loose in your bag where they could get damaged or dirty.

Other Uses

Use half an egg for a scoop or mould to use at the beach for sand castles. The dome shape given by using half an easter egg on a sand castle can add some great detail to any castle you build in the sand.

For Christmas or birthdays wrap the egg up in ribbons or other decorations and fill it with a small gift. Poke two holes in opposite sides, run a string of lights through the eggs and seal the eggs. This works as a handmade patio light set or party light set.

As I’m sure you can appreciate, there are thousands of uses for your old large plastic easter eggs around the house and as gifts. Therefore, there is no reason why you need to throw any of them out this year.
