Classics Back

The Nintendo Wii was known to be a revolutionizing game console. As it was shown and demonstrated by the company last 2005, they emphasize on the motion-sensing ability of the Wii by using the Wii Remote which is the primary controller of the console. The company assured that the gamers would be having a different gaming experience with the newest console from Nintendo.

From the time Nintendo showed their newest game console Wii along with the Wii remote and the whole motion-sensing feature of this creation, game developers started signing up for Wii to create games that the controls will work with the Wii Remote. But for gamers who wish to play their old favorite game it is still possible with Wii but the used of Wii Remote does not guarantee to enhance the playing of some of these games.

Together with the Wii Remote, Nintendo also launched a traditional gamepad controller for Wii. Nintendo designed a Wii controller based from the SNES and GameCube controller. It is known as Wii Classic Controller.

As what was said to be the traditional gamepad for Wii. The Wii Classic Controller was shaped oval with a curve, familiar buttons can be shown like X, Y, A and B, the directional buttons and the four shoulder buttons on the top of the controller with the label Z and R and ZL and ZR. Same as the Wii remote it also has the ” and + buttons and the home button in the middle. Matching the Wii concept it was white in color and light in weight.

Nintendo designed the Wii Classic Controller for all the virtual console games from Nintendo Entertainment System, Super NES, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis and NEC Turbografix 16 except the games from GameCube. Players must use the GameCube controller in playing the GameCube games.

For the Wii Classic Controller to work it must be plugged in to the Wii Remote making it work wirelessly. It does not have its own power supply and gets its power on the Wii remote. For players that are can not adapt to the Wii remote yet this controller will definitely work for them.
