Canon Rebel XSi ” Featuring Image Processing Software Programs

Canon Rebel XSi Digital SLR Camera is a 12.2-megapixel digital single lens reflex camera. Also known as EOS Kiss X2 and EOS 450D, this camera can shoot up to 3.5 frames per second. It has a 3-inch 230,000-pixel LCD monitor and uses EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens.

It features 35-zone evaluative metering system that has an improved white balance. This feature analyzes light to enable the camera to choose the best exposure for the scene. For accurate exposure, it has center-weighted average metering and partial metering. For extremely precise metering, the spot meter was added. Spot meter reads a tiny area of about 4%.

The camera comes with EOS Integrated Cleaning System, which is a self cleaning sensor that uses ultrasonic vibration. This sensor automatically removes dusts on the sensor whenever you turn the camera on or off. You can also use the special collar around the sensor to manually remove dust particles. Dust can also be erased through a software called Canon Digital Photo Professional (DPP).

Canon Rebel XSi allows you to use a wide range of Canon lenses and accessories. Canon lenses can deliver unprecedented performance using the advanced optical expertise and micron-precision engineering. Canon accessories, such as the Canon Speedlite 430EX, can also be used with this camera. Canon Speedlite 450EX, with its tilting and swiveling head, can produce bounce flash.

Canon Rebel XSi digital SLR camera comes with a Canon EOS Digital Solution Disk, which contains powerful software programs developed exclusively for Canon cameras. These applications were designed to assist you with your images.

The disc contains user-friendly viewing and editing options. It has Zoom Browser EX (Version 6.1) for Windows and Image Browser (Version 6.1) that is compatible with Macintosh OS X. The application was designed for viewing and/or editing of image files including JPEG, RAW, TIFF and BMP. It can be used to search and rename images and offer options for printing.

For a high-speed image processing, you can use the Digital Photo Professional (Version 3.3), which you can use even with the new Windows Vista. This application features an image cleaning tool called Dust Delete Data Detection. It enables RAW image processing and high-speed previewing for real-time image adjustment.

Canons EOS Utility (Version 2.3) is a software that connects the camera, through USB, to a computer with Macintosh or Windows operating system. This allows you to shoot from a computer whenever the camera is connected. It handles downloading of images from the camera to the computer. Once images have been copied to the hard drive, this application allows you to link to Canons Zoom Browser/Image Browser or to Digital Photo Professional.

The disc also contains Raw Image Task (Version 2.8), which is compatible with Windows and Macintosh operating systems. It is an application that enables you to process RAW images. It has the same characteristics as Canons in-camera JPEG processing. Also included in the disc are the Picture Style editor (Version 1.0), Photo Stitch and PTP Twain Driver.
