Anyone who wants a shot to play pro football can come. He is looking for a way to create some interest in the team, and wake up his players. Out of all those who came, one man, Eagles diehard fan, and former high school football player, 30 year old teacher Vince Papale actually gets to go on to practice with the actual team. In a huge surprise, Vermeil keeps him on the team. In a fairy tale ending, Vince actually scores a touchdown in his short NFL career.

Apollo 13: This film recounts the incredible story of the Apollo 13 mission to the moon. Nearing the moon, the spacecraft experiences multiple systems failures. With the oxygen supply failing and systems not functioning, they are stranded mover 200,000 miles from Earth. Against impossible odds, the crew of Apollo 13, and thousands of people on the ground, all work tirelessly on creative solutions to bring them safely home. The fact that this crew survived this mission is one of the truly miraculous stories of our lifetime.

Drop Zone: Peter Nessip, and his brother Terry are US Marshall’s escorting criminal Earl Leedy to a high security prison. A daring rescue has the resuers blow a hole in the plane and parachute to freedom, taking Leedy with them. Terry is suck out the hole in the plane also, but plummets to his death. Peter is now after Leedy and his gang, and must enter the world of dare devil skydiving to catch them.

The Kingdom: In Saudi Arabia a terrorist bomber blows up a complex where westerners live. An elite team of FBI agents moves into the scene. They want to quickly get after the terrorists involved. They must have the cooperation of the Saudi’s. With the help of some of the Saudi police, they start to gain ground on the terrorists responsible.

Mamma Mia: Sophie is about to get married. Her single mom has invited her two best lifelong friends to the wedding. Sophie has invited three men from her mothers past, hoping to find her father, and have him walk her down the aisle. Old romances are reborn during the chaotic day before the wedding.

Ivan the Horrible: Film spectacle of the highest request. Eisenstein’s remarkably lavish but detailed journal of King Ivan IV’s life from coronation to conquer to reinstatement. A forging captivating icon of the gentleman and his nation can be found here. Improved by Prokofiev’s primordial score so be it. Bulky going, although beneficial; the tale proceeds in Ivan the Awful. Cast includes Sergei Eisenstein, Nikolai Cherkassov, Ludmila Tselikovskaya, and Serafima Birman. (99 minutes, 1943)

Talladega Nights: The Battle o Ricky Bobby: This is a crazy comedy with NASCAR racing as its platform. Ricky Bobby has become one of the best drivers in NASCAR. When an accident puts him out of action, he loses his nerve for racing. With nothing but racing in his life, Ricky Bobby must find a way to overcome his fear, and return to his championship form.

Payday: Acerbic, vibrant picture of life on the street with a conceited, selfish country and western music megastar, a jerk who calls on his supervisor to “fix” some complications that crop up during the concert tour. One of those prototypical early1970s films that makes modern American movie theater come across bland. Cast includes Rip Torn, Anna Capri, Cliff Emmich, and Michael C. Gwynne. (103 minutes, 1973)
